About this event
SHRINE is an immersive theatre performance conceived and directed by Khadija El Kharraz Alami. Inspired by Silvia Federici’s Caliban and the Witch, it examines the historical persecution of women and the lingering effects of patriarchal structures during the rise of capitalism. The theatre space shifts between courtroom, temple, and sanctuary, allowing grief, anger, and resistance to take ritual form. Design credits include scenography by Dakota Magdalena Mokhammad, costumes by Leila El Alaoui, lighting by Luc Schaltin, music by Reda Senhaji (Cheb Runner), and sound engineering by Arthur De Vuyst. The piece engages questions of marginalization, alienation, social inequality, radical equality, and the recovery of erased female roles.
