About this event

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra brings its cherished holiday tradition, performing Part I (the Christmas Portion) of Handel’s Messiah along with the rousing “Hallelujah” Chorus. The ASO is joined by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chamber Chorus under the leadership of Director of Choruses Norman Mackenzie for a concert that celebrates the season with Old World charm. The program is complemented by music of J. S. Bach, featuring selections associated with his Cantata No. 140 as listed by the UGA Performing Arts Center. The Athens performance takes place at Hodgson Concert Hall as part of the UGA Presents series, with support from David Coker and Sharon J. Price.
