Conceived, written and directed by Rébecca Chaillon with Céline Champinot as co-director, La Parabole du Seum is a staged performance about survival from the margins. Playing on the double meaning of “parabole” (parable/satellite dish) and the street term “seum,” it resists crushing social norms through poetic and political invention. Set on the rooftops of Seine-Saint-Denis (93) and tied to colonial histories and public-service neglect, the piece addresses rising fascism and Western imperialism. It fuses religious syncretism, secular rituals, science fiction, astrology and superstition as tools for collective resistance and new mythologies. The design team includes Camille Riquier (set), Élisa Monteil (sound), Alexia Alexi and Chloé Roger (lighting), Solenne Capmas (costumes) and a video team featuring Elisa Bernard, Boris Carré, Tao Klos and Pauline Millet. Content notes include nudity and smoke, and themes of racism, queerphobia, transphobia, sexism, sexual violence and fatphobia.
