About this event

This is a spoken-theatre production by René Pollesch, who is responsible for both the text and the direction. It was created at Schauspielhaus Zürich in 2018 and has been taken into the repertoire of Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. For the Berlin version, Barbara Steiner newly adapted the set design for the Volksbühne. The production centers on Kathrin Angerer, Marie Rosa Tietjen and Martin Wuttke. Its visual design combines a jungle-like stage environment with Bach, plants and trees, as well as a huge black-gloved hand. Costumes are by Sabin Fleck, with lighting by Markus Keusch and Kevin Sock. Dramaturgy is by Karolin Trachte and Anna Heesen. The text and performance structure uses dialogues and thought loops about theatre, politics and society, with references including Donna Haraway, Sigmund Freud and Gilles Deleuze.
