Bastiaens is described as a 14-year-old pianist who began performing at age five, won the Steinway Pianowedstrijd België at age six, studied at Junior Conservatorium Maastricht from 2019, became an academy student at Davidsbundler Music Academy in The Hague in 2022, and won the Prinses Christina Concours in The Hague in 2025.
