About this event

"Klangzeit" is a concert format for people with and without dementia. The event takes place in the Elbphilharmonie's Small Hall and is designed as an approximately one-hour concert in a relaxed atmosphere. The format is described as a break from everyday life, aimed especially at people with dementia and their relatives. Ensemble Resonanz performs a mixed program of short chamber pieces and songs. A recurring element is communal singing: the audience can sing along to familiar songs while the ensemble provides the musical accompaniment. No dramatic plot, direction, set design, costumes, or lighting design are specified. The program focuses on the close relationship between ensemble and audience, changing instrumental combinations, and the combination of composed music with folk songs. Gregor Dierck is credited with arranging Penderecki's work.
