About this event

This is a concert presentation built around the 2026 China Now Music Festival theme "Chasing Dreams." The event connects two large-scale contemporary works through subjects of migration, labor, historical memory, scientific discovery, and aspiration. Chasing the Sky is a five-movement symphonic suite for orchestra receiving its U.S. premiere. Men of Iron and the Golden Spike is a symphonic oratorio for full orchestra, 120 choristers, and six soloists. Jindong Cai serves as artistic director and conductor, with soloists Lucy Fitz Gibbon, Andrew Munn, Ziqi Wang, Yue Wu, Li Yi, and suona player Zhang Weiwei. The Orchestra Now and China Now Chorus are also listed.
