About this event
This is a season of six solo piano recital productions presented under the series title “SWR Kultur Internationale Pianisten in Mainz”. Each production is built around one named pianist and a date-specific program rather than a shared theatrical staging. The six artists are Yulianna Avdeeva, Rafał Blechacz, Julius Asal, Junyan Chen, Olli Mustonen and Anton Gerzenberg. The artistic concept emphasizes variety across historical periods and piano idioms, from Bach, Boulez, Gubaidulina and Chopin to Beethoven, Prokofiev, Corea, Tanaka, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Grieg, Scriabin, Ligeti, Liszt and Brahms. No director, conductor, stage designer, costume designer, lighting designer or staging concept is stated.
