About this event
This NIDA and Sydney Conservatorium of Music co-production, directed by Claudia Osborne, stages Maurice Ravel's one-act opera with a surreal libretto by Colette. The production features costume design by Leah Hall, lighting design by Jay Cairns, set and props design by Imogen Hale, and production stage management by Hayley Cantrill. The child's room and its contents are at the center of the action, as furniture, crockery, domestic objects, and garden creatures become active dramatic forces. The musical world moves between jazz, ragtime, baroque, and birdsong.
