About this event

Aram Khachaturian’s ballet about the uprising of gladiators and slaves led by the Thracian Spartacus and the defeat of his army by the Roman general Crassus. The staging uses a libretto by Yuri Grigorovich based on N. Volkov’s scenario after Raffaello Giovagnoli’s novel and episodes from Ancient history. The production premiered on 12 June 2007 and was revived on 18 October 2024. The score for the new Krasnoyarsk version was prepared by maestro Dmitry Yurovsky, the theatre’s Music Director and Principal Conductor.
