Peer Gynt – Nikolaisaal, Potsdam

About this event

This is a sign-language concert and music-education production built around Edvard Grieg's music from the incidental music to Peer Gynt. The musicians of the Kammerakademie Potsdam perform with Jan Sell, identified as a Deaf Poet and as Peer Gynt, together with Theresa Diehl as dancer and Lilia Nentwig as sign-language interpreter. The production combines music, signed communication, movement and visual storytelling. It explores fairy-tale worlds and sounds that address all the senses, linking the visual and musical dimensions of the performance. Audience members can try a Feelbelt, which transfers musical frequencies to the body. The target group is school classes in grades 5–10.
