About this event

This is the 14th and concluding concert of the 2026 Donaueschinger Musiktage program, presented live at the Baarsporthalle and as a SWR Kultur video stream. The orchestral program consists of four contemporary works, three for orchestra and one for orchestra with electronics. The SWR Symphonieorchester performs under conductor François-Xavier Roth, with Chris Swithinbank credited for electronics. No director, stage concept, set, costume, lighting, choreography, or other theatrical design is stated. Lanza explores déjà vu, disorientation, and nostalgia through loops; Iannotta addresses memory and loss; Lévy creates a polyrhythmic homage to the music of the Mbaka, Bedzan, and Aka peoples in the context of the climate crisis; and Baba translates medieval animal allegories into sound.
