Orbit 2026: Future History – Sydney Dance Company, Dawes Point

About this event

Future History is a solo contemporary dance work created, choreographed and performed by Gabrielle Nankivell. It is presented within ORBIT 2026, a touring program of four independent Australian dance works led by Australian Dance Theatre, Dancehouse and Sydney Dance Company and supported by Creative Australia. The work explores global uncertainty, conflict, epidemic, extinction and escalating climate events through physical transformation between microscopic organisms and large-scale ecological shifts. Luke Smiles is credited as composer and sound operator. The wider creative collaboration includes Martin del Amo, Kristina Chan, Joshua Thomson, Rasmus Ölme and Vânia Vaneau. Harriet Oxley created the costume concept and realisation, and Meg Wilson created the set and lighting realisation.
