About this event
This concert opens Voices of Ascension's 2026–2027 season. Dennis Keene serves as artistic director and conductor, with the Voices of Ascension Chorus and Orchestra as the performing ensemble. The program contrasts Haydn's Mass in Time of War, marked by timpani, anxiety, forceful choral writing, and a movement toward resolve, with Fauré's Requiem in D Minor, characterized by light, tenderness, muted orchestral colors, and the consolation of In Paradisum.
