About this event

Libertad is a one-hour chamber-music concert presented by the Opéra National de Bordeaux under the theme Espagne. The program combines two works by Joaquín Turina with a string quartet by Claude Debussy. Turina's music is presented in a Spanish context, including La Oración del Toro, described as a bull's prayer before entering the arena, and the Quatuor « de la Guitarra », an expression of the Spanish character in his music. The program then connects this idea to Debussy's quartet and its significance for French music. The named musicians are Pierre Alvarez, Miléna Lagresle, Nicolas Mouret, and Eric Abeijon, identified as members of the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine. No staging or date-specific casting variation is specified.
