About this event

Felix Krakau adapts Heinrich von Kleist’s 1810 novella for the stage and directs the production. It examines the conflict between law and justice, the legitimacy of individual resistance, and whether simple solutions are possible in a complex society. The staging uses a four-person ensemble: Karin Enzler, Lisa Guth, Ferdinand Lehmann, and Alexander Swoboda. The largely open stage combines video projections, colored lighting, fog, backlight, pyrotechnic effects, and the smell of fire. Its visual language includes a projected horse, shadow images, and a neon quotation about justice. Electronic beats and atmospheric sound layers complete the production. The production premiered in 2025 and was revived in October 2026.
