This is a solo piano recital by Igor Levit and the second evening in a cycle presenting all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas. The programme is program-led rather than staged: one pianist, one piano, and a structured first-half/second-half sequence separated by an interval. The programme places contrasting sonatas in succession, moving from F-sharp major Op. 78 to E-flat major Op. 7 before the interval, then continuing with the two E-major and G-major Op. 14 sonatas and concluding with E-flat major Op. 81a, "Les Adieux."
