About this event

Paper Story is a Laterna magika production combining mime, contemporary dance, elements of acrobatics, puppetry and animation. Its central theatrical material is paper: paper functions as scenery, object and imaginative medium, supporting transformations between the performer’s physical actions and an animated, puppet-based world. The creative team is Radim Vizváry, theme, script and stage direction; Marek Cpin, sets and costumes; Ivo Sedláček, music; Matyáš Ramba, choreography; Karel Šimek, lighting design; and Maria Procházková, animation and projection. The production is designed for children and families, with audience participation built into the conclusion. In the interactive finale, children are invited onto the stage and can create paper objects together with the performers. The staging therefore extends beyond observation into guided participation, while retaining the production’s mime, movement, object-theatre and projected-animation structure.
