Lieder-soiree: Katleho Mokhoabane Und Jaeyoung Ha – Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Wiesbaden

About this event

This is a concert-format Lieder recital in the Foyer Grosses Haus of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. The date-specific programme is led by two singers rather than presented as a staged opera or theatrical production. Baritone Jaeyoung Ha focuses on Neapolitan material, while tenor Katleho Mokhoabane presents South African songs. Ha explores Neapolitan folk songs associated with Franz Liszt, Ernesto De Curtis and Francesco Paolo Tosti. Mokhoabane places songs from South Africa alongside music by the African-American composer Florence Price, some of whose works are still awaiting publication. Julia Palmova is identified as the pianist. No director, designer, staging concept, orchestra, chorus, duration, performance language or surtitles are specified.
