About this event

This is the 26th annual Guelaguetza celebration in the San Diego area, presented as an in-person cultural festival focused on Oaxaca's eight regions. The event celebrates community, traditional cuisine, dances, arts, and products from Oaxaca. The Coalition of Indigenous Communities of Oaxaca serves as host, and the festival has returned after a pause related to COVID-19. It is family-friendly and community-based, with an emphasis on sharing regional traditions and supporting cultural continuity. Participating cultural groups include Grupo Folklórico Huaxyacac, Los Diablos de San Sebastián from Tecomaxtlahuaca, and Grupo Alegre's Danza de los Rubios. No individual cast or creative team is identified.
