Queen of Lucia is a new play by local playwright Lisa Balderston, produced by Vantage Theatre for an October-November 2026 full production. The staging is an eerie and mysterious thriller, with changes intended to add several twists and turns. The action takes place in an isolated cabin during a storm, where a married couple experience increasing physical and emotional isolation. Resentment, paranoia, hallucinations, manipulation, anger, doubt, and confusion intensify as uncertainty grows about what is happening in the relationship and psychologically. The audience is invited to guess the ending at intermission, and a prize is given to the audience member whose prediction comes closest to the truth.
