About this event

The Krasnoyarsk production is a repertory staging of Tchaikovsky’s lyric opera IOLANTA. Conductors are Alexander Kosinskiy, Filippo Dessi, Mikhail Leontyev and Eldar Nagiyev; the stage director is Evgeny Kurokhtin; the production designer is Elena Gogoleva; the chorus master is Natalia Bush; and the assistant director is Oksana Lukyanets. The production premiered at the theatre on 20 May 1987. The action takes place in Provence, in the mountains of southern France. The opera focuses on goodness, beauty, faith and humanistic ideals. The chorus and mimans portray servants, Iolanta’s companions, the king’s retinue, squires and musicians.
