About this event

Petal is a contemporary ballet choreographed by Helen Pickett and staged for American Ballet Theatre by Sarah Hillmer. The work is inspired by the color and softness of gerbera daisies and uses movement to examine intimacy, human touch, and connection. The ABT presentation credits Pickett with the set design. Nete Joseph designed the costumes, Brandon Stirling Baker designed the lighting, and Todd Elmer is credited with original lighting. The work is described as kinetic and colorful, while its central image is the radiant hues of gerbera daisies. The restaging for ABT was made possible in part through support from the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Fund.
