About this event

This is an indoor physical-theatre production combining music, dance and theatre. It begins with a musical funeral procession in which the audience participates as funeral guests, before developing into a staged performance with four performers and four musicians. NordenFra developed the production after the death of ensemble colleague Gitte Kielberg in 2021. The artistic process addresses grief, powerlessness and existential questions associated with loss, examining how people live with death and speak about subjects that often remain unspoken. Jens Kløft is credited as director and co-writer with the company. The creative team includes the NordenFra performers, Jens Kløft and Nyoman Setiawan for masks, Helle Pørksen for scenography, Henrik Bredholt for lighting, and Elisabeth Groot for costumes and artistic leadership. The production combines live music, dance and theatre.
