Reveries In Fracture – Kings Place, London

About this event

REVERIES IN FRACTURE is a world-premiere multidisciplinary live work by visual artist Afshin Naghouni and composer Amir Konjani. It combines abstract painting and film with Kraken instruments and contemporary performance, in collaboration with the London Sinfonietta and Trinity Laban. The visual concept uses abstract reconstructions of Old Master paintings and questions the relationship between memory and what may never have existed. Konjani's compositions are inspired by Naghouni's paintings and use bespoke resonators, voice, and ensemble. The performance features Gabriella Dall'Olio on Kraken Soveida harp and concert harp, Aleksander Szram on Kraken harpsichord and piano, Eleanor Westbrook on voice, and Nazanin Aghakhani as conductor, with eight double bass players. The one-hour performance is followed by a visit to Hall Two to view Naghouni's paintings.
