Brigitta Muntendorf's Last Show turns the auditorium into a live social experiment. The event is positioned between a television studio, a concert hall and a system quietly slipping out of control, aiming to dissolve the boundary between audience and performer. Fourteen musicians operate both as a showband and as an ensemble. Muntendorf's concept of Radical Listening provides the participation framework: audience members may engage, respond, vote or reflect, and are invited to use their mobile phones to answer questions designed to encourage self-reflection and challenge perceptions. The sound world moves between slick entertainment and abstraction, constantly reshaping itself as questions appear, roles shift and content fades. The work brings music, technology and social behaviour together in a shared setting and asks how the audience is thinking and who it becomes when everything is staged.
