BOOP! The Musical is a stage musical built around Betty Boop, the animated character created by Max Fleischer. The North American tour recreates the original Broadway production directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, with tour direction recreated by DB Bonds and tour choreography by Rachelle Rak. The production contrasts Betty's black-and-white ToonTown with present-day New York City through scenery by David Rockwell and projections by Finn Ross. Costumes are by Gregg Barnes, wigs and hair by Sabana Majeed, and makeup by Michael Clifton. Lighting, sound, illusions, and marionette design are credited to Philip S. Rosenberg, Gareth Owen, Skylar Fox, and The Huber Marionettes. The score is by David Foster with lyrics by Susan Birkenhead and combines golden-age Broadway jazz with contemporary musical-theatre sounds.
