About this event

This is the SSSO's opening concert of its 2026-27 season at Proctors MainStage. The program is framed as a transatlantic musical journey from Spain and the New World to France, linking Marc Migó's contemporary orchestral work with Saint-Saëns' symphonic repertoire. The first work, Carnaval de las Indias, uses a large instrumental and narrated format for flute, clarinet, percussion, narrator, two pianos, and strings. The second work is Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony, performed with full orchestra and organ, including Proctors' refurbished Goldie, the venue's Mighty Wurlitzer theatre organ.
