About this event

This is a concert presentation rather than a staged opera or theatre production. The Baroque program combines instrumental works and vocal numbers by Händel, Scarlatti, Pergolesi, Locatelli and Ferrandini. Roberta Mameli is the soprano, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin provides the ensemble forces, and Bernhard Forck is credited as concertmaster. The program alternates recitatives, arias and instrumental works, moving from inner consolation and passionate resolve toward existential lament. No separate staging concept or theatrical production team is credited.
