About this event

Laterna magika's production is a theatre adaptation of Vítězslav Nezval's black surrealist novella, directed by Jakub Šmíd. It combines spoken theatre, movement, singing, dance, and video projection. A large house forms the central scenic element, with a miniature henhouse as its counterpart; events in one affect the other. The house reflects Valérie's developing inner life, where memories, impressions, time, and dreams overlap. The production premiered at Nová scéna in November 2023 and is presented in this run at Stavovské divadlo.
