La forza del destino shifts attention away from a title centered on one character. It explores the fate of social classes and peoples, functioning both as a drama of ideas and as a family and love tragedy. Frank Castorf's staging connects the conflicts with the Spanish Civil War, the fight against fascism in the Second World War, and colonial history. The production is conducted by Massimo Zanetti and directed by Frank Castorf, with designs by Aleksandar Denic, Adriana Braga Peretzki and Lothar Baumgarte. Guanqun Yu, Pavel Yankovsky and Luciano Ganci embody the central triangle of fate.
