About this event
This is a new staging of Benjamin Britten's opera. Myfanwy Piper's libretto follows Thomas Mann's novella fairly faithfully and preserves its psychological drama. Daniel Smith conducts and Rodula Gaitanou directs. The staging team includes Takis for stage and costumes, Mattia Agatiello for choreography, Fiammetta Baldiserri for lighting, and Dick Straker for video. The production features Coro OperaLombardia and I Pomeriggi Musicali, with Diego Maccagnola as chorus master. Performances are in the original language with Italian surtitles.
