The production is presented by Musiktheater Wien as part of the Victor Ullmann Festival. The Rossetti page identifies it as a mono-opera by Russian composer Grigori Frid, who lived from 1915 to 2012, based on the original text of Anne Frank's diary; Frid also wrote the libretto. The opera is divided into 21 scenes. The work exists in a version for soprano and chamber orchestra and a version for soprano and piano. Sala Bartoli presents the latter, the version identified by the page as having been first performed in Moscow in 1972. Direction, set design and lighting are by Bruno Berger-Gorski, with costumes by Christine Mayerhofer. The principal stage personnel are soprano Miriam Hajieva and pianist Almog Aharoni. The programme is preceded by the aria "Ani Maamin", performed by Obercantor Shmuel Barzilai, tenor, and Davide Casali, clarinet.
