About this event

The Mittelsächsisches Theater presents The Emperor of Atlantis or The Refusal of Death and The Broken Jug as a staged double bill. Both works are one-act pieces by Viktor Ullmann; the first uses a text by Peter Kien, while the second is an opera with music and libretto by Ullmann after Heinrich von Kleist. André Meyer directs, with José Luis Gutiérrez as musical director. Julia Schnittger designs the stage and costumes, and Raphael Howein creates the video. The production travels between Freiberg and Döbeln.
