About this event

The production is an original dance drama by the Jiangsu Center for the Performing Arts. Its historical foundation is the Chu-Han contention recorded in the Records of the Grand Historian. It combines the idea that heaven and earth form the board and all things are the pieces with Chinese chess culture. The work uses scenography, multimedia technology, martial-arts-based movement and traditional opera vocabulary to explore the conflict through the perspectives of Xiang Yu and Liu Bang.
