About this event
OUTSIDER is a collaboration between French choreographer Rachid Ouramdane and the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève. The Shanghai production features 20 dancers and four highliners: Nathan Paulin, Tania Monier, Louise Lenoble and Daniel Laruelle. The work uses the image of a crowd or swarm to explore unstable horizontal movement, physical limits, trust, risk, collaboration and freedom. Set design is by Sylvain Giraudeau, lighting by Stéphane Graillot, costumes by Gwladys Duthil and assistant choreography by Mayalen Otondo. Music is credited to Julius Eastman, with music improvisation and recorded piano performance by Luca Moschini, Lucie Madurell, María del Pilar Huerta Gómez and Adrián Fernández García, supervised by Stéphane Ginsburgh. The production is by the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève and is co-produced with Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse, with support from Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels.
