About this event

DANCE is a postmodern dance work built from the interaction of choreography, music, and visual art. Lucinda Childs's minimalist movement vocabulary uses variation and repetition with geometric spatial design. Philip Glass provides the musical component, while Sol LeWitt's visual contribution appears as film projected onto a transparent screen. Live dancers and projected imagery remain in continuous relation, creating changing visual layers through movement, time, and space rather than a character-based dramatic plot. The Lyon Opera Ballet production credits Hélène Louvart as director of photography, Anne Abeille for the script, Jocelyne Ruiz for editing, Philippe Perrot for special effects, Christina Giannini for costumes, Marco Merenda and Raúl Serrano Núñez as ballet masters, and Amandine François as assistant ballet master.
