About this event

This is a concert tribute built around the voice of Denise Gutiérrez, the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Vientos Musicales and the Coro de Comonfort. The production uses symphonic arrangements, choral interpretation and a stage proposal to present María Grever's work to new generations while retaining its classical character. It is framed around the 75th anniversary of Grever's death and presents her as a Mexican composer whose work crossed national borders, included Hollywood film music and challenged the gender restrictions of her period. The sources give different estimates of her output: more than 800 pieces on the event page and more than 1,000 compositions in the TV4 preview, which also states that approximately 10 percent is known.
