About this event
The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a contemporary dance spectacle that remixes Tchaikovsky's classic score with hip hop choreography and live performance elements. Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, it was created in 2013 with writer and co-creator Mike Fitelson. The San Diego engagement is part of Broadway San Diego's 49th Season and is recommended for all ages. The production uses digital graffiti and contemporary New York imagery to reinterpret E.T.A. Hoffmann's story. The wider 2026 tour runs from November 14 through January 3 across 21 cities, with approximately 50 performances.
