This is an orchestral concert by the Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM (OFUNAM), conducted by Sylvain Gasançon, presented within the 54 Festival Internacional Cervantino under the program label México - Lituania. The stated artistic frame connects traditional symphonic repertoire with contemporary Mexican creation. The program begins with Ana Lara's Breves sombras, a work commissioned by OFUNAM in connection with the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth. It then moves to Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, with Lithuanian pianist Lukas Geniušas as soloist, and closes with Dvořák's Symphony No. 8. The concert lasts 83 minutes with intermission.
