About this event

The production uses the Pleiades star cluster in the constellation of Taurus as its conceptual image. Six percussionists embody the lights that the human eye can distinguish. The staging translates Iannis Xenakis's interest in space into a sensory arrangement of wood and metal instruments, evoking an acoustic vault and a rain of stars falling across the night sky. The material focus is tied to the work's percussion writing, including the timbral richness of the sixxen and the different materials used in the instruments.
