Robyn Orlin created and choreographed the work as a tribute to South African rickshaw pullers of the 1970s. The production combines dance and song, drawing on the ornate decorations worn on the pullers' heads and their light, dance-like steps to create a distinct rickshaw dance. MIDM dancers draw on Zulu traditions, with distinctive costumes, ritualized group movements, and invitations for the audience to dance. The score by Anelisa Stuurman and Yogin Sullaphen combines slam poetry, local Khoisan traditions, and contemporary music, while voices, costumes, lighting, video, and movement are interwoven.
