About this event
This is a concert presentation by the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra rather than a staged opera or theatre production. The program combines Jiangnan silk-and-bamboo traditions with symphonic writing and presents three Chinese orchestral works in sequence. Traditional instrumental colors are connected with large-scale orchestral writing. Ode to Rivers, Lakes and Seas combines the refined character of Jiangnan silk-and-bamboo music with the broader sonority of a Chinese orchestra, including multi-zither textures, erhu color, and Kunqu elements. Peng Jiapeng is the conductor and Zhu Changyao is the erhu soloist. No staging, duration, performance language, or subtitle information is stated.
