SOIRÉE D'ÉTUDES draws on Cassiel Gaube's long-term research into House Dance and examines how street-dance vocabulary can meet contemporary choreography. Three dancers shift formations and deconstruct, reshape, and exchange House Dance footwork, rhythms, and grooves through physical dialogue. Conceived as a series of short, interconnected pieces, the work is described as a "pas de deux for three": the dancers pass the floor to one another and form different pairings rather than remaining a fixed trio. The choreography analyses the kinaesthetic possibilities of House Dance and reworks its lexicon, connecting club and contemporary dance practices.
