About this event
This is a stage-play production of Nikolai Gogol's satirical comedy The Government Inspector, a classic work first premiered in 1836. The production uses the work's central farcical premise: a case of mistaken identity involving a government inspector. The staging emphasizes escalating misunderstandings, precise comic timing, vivid character portrayals, and satire of bureaucracy, human vanity, and desire. Ying Da is credited as director, with Li Chengru, Huang Hong, Liu Wei, and Wang Jinsong listed as actors.
