This touring concert production by the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks and hr-Bigband is presented in Alzenau, Frankfurt and Munich. The artistic concept combines Duke Ellington's sacred music with spirituals, swing and close-harmony choral writing. It includes Christian Elsässer's commissioned new work, identified as a world premiere, and features two vocal soloists, conductor Peter Dijkstra and tap dancer Gaines Hall. The concert uses existing church and concert venues and has no documented theatrical staging, scenic design or event-specific livestream.
