Más Tropical With Quitapenas – The Loft at UCSD, La Jolla

About this event

This is a live Global Music presentation by the Southern California ensemble QUITAPENAS. The ensemble's sound is based on Afro-Latin rhythms and Latin American musical traditions, shaped by the experiences of first-generation sons of Guatemalan and Mexican immigrants. Its musical influences include Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Angola, Latin America, and the African diaspora. The name QUITAPENAS refers to the Spanish phrase meaning “to remove worries,” and the event emphasizes dancing, connection, and audience participation. Doors open at 19:00, with food and beverages available at Zanzibar at The Loft. No individual musical works, set list, staging concept, or individual artist credits are published.
