About this event

This is a concert presentation at Jacobs Music Center rather than a staged opera or theatre production. The event is identified as a Lab 38 rental event, and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra does not appear. The performing ensemble is the Vienna Royal Orchestra, joined by members of the Imperial Valley Symphony Orchestra. The program celebrates the 270th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birth and follows a preceding New York Carnegie Hall appearance. Matthew Busse conducts, with Tian Jiang on piano and named violin and guest-piano participants. The program combines two Mozart concertos with Busse's Idyll for Violin and Orchestra.
