Early Music Days is a two-cycle early-music festival presented by the Greek National Opera Alternative Stage. The First Cycle, The Age of Revolutions, explores Beethoven and his musical environment through eighteenth- and nineteenth-century repertoire by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert, performed on period instruments. The Second Cycle, Active Pasts, treats early music as material open to reinterpretation, combining Baroque repertoire, cross-dressing narrative, commissioned contemporary music, jazz, electronics, medieval instruments and visual design.
