About this event
A two-work symphonic program in Theater Osnabrück’s 2026/27 season at OsnabrückHalle features Josef Špaček as violin soloist and Christopher Lichtenstein conducting the Osnabrücker Symphonieorchester. The evening pairs Edward Elgar’s deeply felt, virtuosic Violin Concerto in B minor with Beethoven’s groundbreaking Symphony No. 3, “Eroica.” The curatorial arc links intense emotion and noble restraint in Elgar to Beethoven’s visionary scale and the work’s wider human and historical resonance. Across both pieces, the program highlights ideals of passion, artistic freedom, and the potential and contradictions of the individual.
